Barack Obama's Presidential Address
http://www.cnn.com/2009/POLITICS/02/24/sotn.obama.transcript/
I know most of you watched the President's Address last night and it is one for the record books. I for one was most honored to witness President Obama's first Address to the Nation. He came hard and with great enthuasiasm for our great nation to become the power house it once was before President George W. Bush stole the election in 2000.
You could feel the tension in the air through the television screen, but Obama was being a comedian and got a few jabs in there on the Repubs who have been filibustering since he took office. One person to watch was Uncle Festus, (John McCain), I thought he was going to have a conniption fit sitting right there. He knew all eyes were on him, so he tried to not let his face give him away.
I sincerely hope that our leaders can come together for the good of the American people and not concentrate too much on personality. We have a grave problem and without working together we can ensure that it will only get worse. But, one thing I cannot ignore was that after the address, all sorts of people were getting an autograph from the Prez. I have never seen that in my lifetime, and I always watch when the president addresses the nation. That was a site to behold on a real tip, when I saw old white leaders begging for a handshake and holding there little program out for an autograph. PRICELESS!!!!!!!!!!!!
I posted the video and the transcript for your listening pleasure.
